Great news for a Great New Year!!

So Xeric and Xiang's new family came to visit them again today.

Their adoption has been finalized through Austin Pets Alive and the babies will go to their great new forever home on Friday!

They had a great time playing with their new mommies and with their new brother. 

Now they're contentedly snoozing on the couch.

I'm so happy that they get to go together to such a great new home.

Christmas: the aftermath

The kittens are thoroughly enjoying one of the un-intended side effects of Christmas Day: piles of wrapping paper!

We decided to leave the paper out for a while to let them enjoy themselves. They have alternately played and napped in the pile all afternoon.

Xeric and Xiang: a new beginning!

Today the babies had a couple of special visitors! Two wonderful ladies came over to meet the kitties and see if they would be a good match for their home.

The kittens were super excited and were showing off all of their playful cuteness.

Their two new friends seemed to really like them, and it looks like Xeric and Xiang have found themselves a new family!

I can't wait to finalize the adoption process and send Xeric and Xiang home with their new awesome moms.

Christmas with Kittens - Tree Time!

It's Christmas Time!!! This year we have a new seasonal hurdle: kittens vs the tree....

I have the tree completely set up and decked, and they've only managed to knock it over once so far.

They were supper excited about the tree when I got it up, but quickly got tired of it and decided the box was more entertaining. 

Here's what they were doing while I got it lit and decorated:

Once they woke up however it was a different story...

Knitten' Kitten!

So I'm working on a knitted blanket for the new baby in my family (any day now! Congrats cousin!)
and the kittens have been predictably excited about the yarn.

They've taken it in turns to sit at my feet and get themselves hopelessly snarled in the yarn and to annoy foster mommy until she makes them sit in the bathroom.

Today however I had an unexpected surprise. I sat down with the blanket to continue and my yarn pile WAS MOVING.... breathing.....shifting....

This is actually less disruptive than when he's trying to play with the yarn so I don't think I'm even going to move him. It's really cute!

Xiang has discovered the wonders of an HD TV!

Last night was hilarious!

Xiang suddenly realized that she could see the TV screen! She did a fantastic double-take and started batting at the screen and mewing at the moving objects.

I decided to have a little fun with her and found one of those "Cat TV" videos on youtube.

Through all of this Xeric has remained unamused and prefers to swat his sister's tail while she is otherwise engaged. Smart Boy!
